Tuan Jones (b. 1991) is an American artist born in Chicago, Illinois. His practice merges abstraction with traditional figurative painting, moving fluidly between narrative, medium, and form. Drawing from themes of urban life, philosophy, and self-discipline, Tuan’s work is marked by a distinctive visual language that bridges the physical and the spiritual.
A recurring symbol in his work, “Two Red Dots,” reflects both theological and socioeconomic perspectives, representing the idea of physical and spiritual completion. His figurative compositions expand this motif through the introduction of a third circle, symbolizing the body and grounding the work in human presence.
Methodologically, Tuan believes the future of society is shaped by the challenges addressed through art, design, and innovation. He views these challenges not as obstacles, but as catalysts for progress and the preservation of culture—particularly through the use of emerging media and technologies. His practice engages these ideas by creating immersive fine art, thoughtfully designed objects, and experiences rooted in discipline, experimentation, and community.
Beyond the studio, Tuan’s work has extended into a range of products and collaborations with major brands including Adidas, the NFL, POSCA, and The Gates Hotel in South Beach. Currently, he is focused on evolving his process—developing work from his most authentic self while using abstraction, world history, and pop culture as guiding forces.
